Location:
Cusco is a city in southeastern Peru, near the Huatanay River Valley. It is the capital of the Cusco Region as well as the Cusco Province. It’s at a height of 3,399 meters above sea level, at 13° 30' 45" latitude south and at 71° 58' 33" longitude west from Greenwich Meridian.
Cusco borders:
North: rain forest of Junin and Ucayali Regions, south-west: Arequipa and Puno, at the east borders the Amazon and Madre de Dios woodland planes, at the west, it is united to the Apurimac Mountains and the Ayacucho jungle.
The Peruvian hour is similar to the EST (Eastern Standard Time) from United States and it is also 5 hours after GMT (Greenwich Meridian Time).

Weather:
From April to October it is very cool and dry, temperature varies between 5° and 20° Celsius.
Rainy season starts in November until March, at the beginning of the season, rain is light; from January to March rain is more intense. |
